In an exciting and closely matched game, Cheektowaga defeated Long Beach 4-3 in the NYSAAU Small High School Final. The game was played before a sell-out crowd at the City of Long Beach Ice Arena.
Led by Tournament MVP Anthony Cybulski, Cheektowaga jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Long Beach fought back on goals by William Guido and Evan Schwartz. The teams traded goals until Kyle Posnosky put Cheektowaga ahead to stay at the eight minute mark of the 3rd Period. Long Beach continued to apply pressure hitting the post with 11 seconds remaining in the game.
