WEST CHESTER, Penn. - Due to an overwhelming demand from member organizations, and increased support from the AAU, the CHF has expanded its plans for the upcoming end of year hockey event. The CHF, in conjunction with its partners at AAU, Rsportz, GameSheet, Black Dog, Ice Line Quad Rinks and the Chester County Conference and Visitor’s Bureau, are proud to “re-present” the Dr. Roger Goudy Memorial Hockey Festival. A one in its kind opportunity for non-varsity hockey and current student-athletes to compete in an “All-Star Showdown,” “CHF Showcase” for teams able to compete and the first-ever “CHF Prospect Showcase,” for future student-athletes. No event could more aptly represent the legacy of Dr. Roger Goudy, than one that provides opportunities for student-athlete growth, participation and education.
So, once again, the CHF will descend upon the Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, Pennsylvania, from Thursday, April 15 through Sunday, April 18 to host a “Festival” weekend of hockey for some of our member programs, current and hopeful future student-athletes.
With conferences sending individual teams, All-Star Teams, and All-Senior Teams, the CHF will wun two “showcase styled” pool play tournaments simultaneously, resulting in the distribution of AA Gold, Silver or Bronze medals to the top three teams in each showcase on Sunday, April 18.
In addition to the All-Star Showdown and the “Showcase,” the CHF will be hosting its first-ever “Prospect Showcase,” providing high school student-athletes and U18 players the opportunity to showcase for the more than 50 member programs of the CHF that will be in attendance and the more than 100 that may be following online. Included in their on-ice participation will be a series of educational sessions, meet and greets and question and answer sessions focused on providing all participants with a comprehensive understanding of the transition process to college for a student-athlete, and the landscape of the non-varsity college hockey world.
The player and team selection process for the All-Star Showdown is currently underway, and we are preparing to launch our registration portal for all future CHF Prospects. As the pools, schedules, and logistical elements of the All-Star Showdown and the CHF Prospect Showcase are finalized, we look forward to releasing our media package and details on how to join us in Pennsylvania or watch online.
