AAU Approves an August 1st Start Date for Youth Ice Hockey
AAU Hockey has received approval from our national office to begin our 2013-2014 season on August 1st, which will allow early registrations from August 1st through August 14th.
AAU ice hockey Clubs (Teams) may register their programs on August 1st through 14th 2013 by calling the membership department directly at: (407) 934-7200 and asking for Jackie Markham. For additional information: membership@aausports.org
On August 15th and thereafter, all registrations must be processed online in the conventional AAU manner.
This early registration process will provide important AAU membership benefits “such as insurance coverage” to our Players, Coaches and Clubs during this traditional tryout, practice and scrimmage season, throughout the month of August.
Please be aware that no Club (Team) may conduct on-ice practices prior to the receipt of the form and payment by the national AAU membership office. Or, in the case of Clubs (Teams) who wait for August 15th and register online, until their registrations are processed.
Please note: Some youth participants may already posses memberships for the 2013-2014 season, since those under 18 may obtain multi-year AAU memberships. While adults must obtain new memberships every season. Further, the memberships of Players and Coaches from the 2012-2013 season do not expire until after August 31, 2013.
